Living With Dementia

Dementia is different for everyone and everyone may have a different experience.

Empowering Our Community with Dementia Awareness

I decided to create this blog site so that I can provide insights into dementia care in the African American community. No, I am not a medical doctor or a healthcare professional of any kind and I did not play one on television.  But what I am willing to share is my first hand "Lived Experience" of my journey on taking care of a loved one with dementia.  As such, nothing on this site shall be considered nor is intended to be considered medical advice in any fashion.  Please consult with your medical professional for medical care.  With that said, Come with me on my journey to see how you can make a difference, if you find yourself in this situation!
Let me also add that dementia has many faces, hundreds of symptoms, side effects and behavior traits.  Everyone's situation and experience can be different.  This by no means is to be viewed as the gospel or the blueprint of treating dementia.  This is just my willingness to share my personal journey with caring for a loved one with dementia.
